I am sometimes asked why I don't put a complete list of all my forthcoming gigs on the web-site.  Well....

It isn't because I don't want to see you at them, but many of them are private functions.

If you would like me to sing, play or talk to your club, organisation or house concert please do get in touch.

Failing that you can often find me at one of the excellent East Anglian folk music sessions.

These sessions include:

The Crown and Castle, Risby, Suffolk (1st Tuesday);

The Bull, Woolpit, Suffolk (2nd Wednesdays);

The Greyhound, Pettistree, Suffolk (2nd Sundays).

Some highlights from 2014

* Bury Folk Collective ~ 10th January 2014

This was the first opportunity to "play out" properly, following my stroke.  Modesty forbids....but I thought it went rather well.  The evening was supported by a wide range of musicians from many differing styles and it all worked amazingly well! Here is a report from the Bury Folk Collective web-site:

"Closing out the first half was Peter Twitchett, taking us on a geographical trip from the ‘Claudy Banks’ to the ‘Gulf of Mexico’ (and providing some excellent jokes along the way)."

* Oakes Barn - Bury St. Edmunds ~ 22nd January 2014

Another well-crafted night.  We christened Oakes Barn!

*Woolpit Men's Club - March 27th 2014

Boy, couldn't that audience sing!  They joined in enthusiastically right from the start and we had a whale of a night.  I had originally been booked before my stroke and this was a very fitting way to get back on my horse!  Thanks fellas!

*Oakes Barn - Bury St. Edmunds ~ 20th April 2014

An acoustic night at the Barn.  It was held in the main bar and was an interesting mix of performers.  If you haven't been yet, do go as it is an excellent venue.

* Woolpit Live! - The Bull, Woolpit ~ 31st May 2014

I was booked to compare the show and we were given a lovely evening from David and Issy Emeney and the Fern Teather Band.  The audience were lovely and joined in all the choruses!

Woolpit Festival - The Bull Woolpit ~ 5th June 2014

The opening night of the Woolpit Festival was a folk night hosted by yours truly.  This was a very successful occasion with good audience participation throughout.  Guests were "Sound Tradition", a well respected a capella group from Bury St. Edmunds and Ellie Jamison, a local contemporary singer.  We had a great night and helped get the festival off to a good start.

Radio RWSfm - June 19th 2014

I was asked to join the weekly Radio RWSfm folk and blues show to help promote our concert at Nowton Village Hall.  I was also encouraged to bring some favourite CDs with me.  John Amos, the presenter, has a deep knowledge of folk music and between us we caressed the airwaves with tracks as diverse as June Tabor and the Oyster Band, the Rough Island Band, Gordon Giltrap and Bill Staines.  Oh, and I was able to promote the concert as well!

Nowton Live! - July 5th 2014

When I was laid low with my stroke I decided that when I recovered sufficiently I would put on a show to help raise money for the Stroke Unit at West Suffolk Hospital.  This was the show and it was a brilliant success.  John Amos compered and helped organise and we were joined by "All Fingers and Thumbs", (who managed to sing two songs at the same time without stumbling over the words), Steve and Elena, (amazing violin and ukulele), Gayle Wade (lovely comic songs from Norfolk), Keith Cilvert (a superb selection of songs) and yours truly ('nuff said). We managed to raise £540.80.  The audience were very enthusiastic and joined in all the choruses and firmly declared that we should do it all again.  Which we will.  But not just yet!

Don't worry over the fact that there is nothing much down here.  This space will fill up as the year goes on.
