Kentish Horse Folk Ale

It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Grant Rule, one of the mainsprings behind the Folk Ale. I have known Grant for many years. He had an infectious appetite for all life had to offer and was not only a stalwart of the Croydon Folksong Club for many years, but also a much respected IT expert, sailor, archer and historian. Sue and Grant have done wonders for the world of folk between them and many people will know of Grant through the work of Hamfisted, Pig's Ear and the Pig's Ear Folk Ale in Kent. I am proud and privileged to have been a friend of his, deeply saddened by his passing yet take comfort from the fact that he died doing something he loved.

Some not so recent adventures

Radio Kidnappers

Radio Kidnappers is an excellent radio station.  Based in New Zealand, it hosts a fine folk music programme.  It is well worth working out the time difference to listen in!

RWSfm

RWSfm serves the Bury St. Edmunds area and has an accomplished folk programme with a knowledgeable presenter.

BCB Radio

BCB radio is the community radio station for Bradford and, among other excellent programmes, has a well-respected folk programme with a presenter steeped in folk music!

CDs

My latest CD "Many 1000 Miles behind us"  is now available.  So far it has been aired on Wayland Radio (Norfolk), RWSfm (Suffolk), BCB Radio (Bradford), Bishop 105.9 FM (Bishop Auckland), WFDU (USA), BBC Radio Shropshire(UK) and Radio Kidnappers (New Zealand).  I am also featured on "Folk Miscellany 2". Recently we recorded Miscellanies 3 and 4 which are also available! If you would like copies, catch me at a performance or send me an e-mail!

"In From the Cold" is nearly sold out, so if you want one....

Mudcat instigated a project to celebrate their first 15 years by recording a new selection of MudCat CDs featuring tracks from members.  I am honoured to have been involved in this project.  The CDs launched on14th November 2011 at Herga Folk Club (for this country) and I am on the CD entitled 'Stone'.
